Something Different on Pro-Hunters
« on: February 24, 2007, 01:04:19 PM »
I just noticed a couple days ago while handling my new Pro-Hunter rifle that there is no Trigger Stop Screw!

I also noticed that the trigger guard is thicker in the area where the trigger stop screw is on my other Encores!

Is this normal on the Pro-Hunter or an over-sight on TC's part?

The owners manual that came with the Pro-Hunter clearly shows the trigger stop screw!

Not really a big deal, I just wanted to know!

Thanks.

YES this is true!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was notified by the "T/C Guru in Oregon" about this on all new Encore frames. I cannot figure out why T/C would do this????
This is not a good change!!

A Running Production Change????

Hummmmm...   I just bought one today, Pro Hunter Frame and Camo FlexTech Stock and it has the set screw installed.

I wonder if T/C made a running production change?

I understand they are being done away with on the Encores & Prohunters. You will have to get your smith to D&T to install overtravel screw if you ever want to obtain optimum trigger function. Bad decision on part of TC. Could it be result of S&W take over?

Here we go with the S&W take over.  ::)

My pro-hunter has the set screw installed, but I usually don't bother adjusting it.

Someone posted here that they were not on the new G2s either, but my latest frame, a post S&W stainless model, has the overtravel screw.  I think the jury may still be out on this one...

I don't really consider it a big deal, only that it was different.

I also don't feel that it will be detrimental to accuracy, afterall, none of my other rifles have this feature, only the other two Encores!

It may have just been an oversight by TC.  Who knows, it may be somewhat of a collectors item later on.

This change was done prior to the takeover by Smith. Some PH's have the screw, some dont'. It depends on what piece of inventory you happen to buy.
