NcStar Optics? Anyone tried?
« on: February 21, 2007, 08:33:25 PM »
Just curious if anyone has tried one.  I have a couple .22 pistols I'd like to scope but don't want to put a lot of money into something that I'm just going to plink with..eventually I'd like to try out one of the new rimfire barrels T/C is offering for the Encores after more people have tried them...just wondering what the quality of them is like...for around 50-70$$ it can't be that good..they do come with a lifetime warrantee.

I have a 2.5 power. I think that the clarity and brightness are top shelf. As good as any pistol scope I've tried and I've tried alot!(Leupold, burris, bushnell, Bosch&lomb,T/C & simmons). Have'nt tried em on a hard kicker yet, but others have and have reported good luck w/ them. I am gonna pick up a 2x7 to try on a 30/06 barrel I just bought.

I have a 4x illuminated model I mounted on a Mosin Nagant in a scout mount.  I was shocked at how clear the optics were for the price.  My intent in purchasing the NC Star was to see if I liked the scout configuration without spending too much.  I figured an inexpensive scope like that wouldn't live up to the pounding the 7.62x54R would dish out.  So far it has proven me wrong.  After several hundread rounds it still holds zero perfectly.  I was quite impressed with it and have been considering purchasing some additional NC Star scopes.  They are clear and bright and so far the one I have "been testing" has held up.
