I am not positive that this is the Bowers rest system, but I believe it might be.
Go to www.Singleshooters.org
Click on the links button
Click on the Denzel Roberts link
Click on the “Photo Gallery” (page 1)
see the pictures on this page. (frames 5 & 6) I believe this is a Bowers rest. I have no idea where this could be purchased, or if it can be purchased at all.

Another option for a similar system –
Go to www.Singleshooters.org
Click on the links page
Go further down the page under “Individual, Reference, and Club Sites” and click on the Long Range Handgun Association link.
On the right hand side of this page is a link to Contender Bench Rest Forearms – click here
Go down the page and you will see pictures of this rest. (frames 3 and 6)
Go to the bottom of this page and click on “More pics and details from “The Den”
Go to the bottom of this page and click on “A layman’s low cost long range rest system” you will see details for this rest.
Hope this helps.

Neither of the above systems following those links are Bower rests.

There are several versions of it though, and all DBR's require modified forends and grips to use them as designed to be used.   Using the system, my 6.5 Super Bower pistola will hold its own against the bench rifles at the 1000 yard fun matches.

Here's some pics of the old style and the new.

Here's a not so good picture of the old style in use with the 30 Alaskan.

A shoe is added to the grip (at the right angle), and the forend is wide and flat at the correct angle to match the front rest.   The black on both the base and front rest is actually sand paper - you slide the pistola back and forth to "sand-in" to a zero hold (the gun will stand there by itself) - then touch it off.

Hope this helps some.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
