Hi all,
went hunting on Sunday afternoon and shot a couple of feral young goats, two one shot kills, both piled up with in 10' of each other, first shot steep uphill 150yds with a rock for a rest, angled front on chest shot, bullet entered left shoulder traveled through the chest exited out rear rib cage. Second shot both shoulders, bullet found under skin left side, Photo 1 interesting how the close shot demolished the bullet.Photo 2 The end results, Photo 3 looking down to the creek from where the first shot was taken from

Sounds like great fun. Good shooting by the way. Do you eat the goats? Charlie

too many people underestimate the incredible 243.thank you for helping to debunk that myth.my handi rifle 243 is 5 for 5 on whitetail deer.including a dressed 132 lbs 6 pointer.used federals 85 grain sierra gameking to take a med. sized doe last year, one shot,60yds and had backstraps for breakfast!most accurate factory load i have found.will have to try the sst.thahks for the info

That is the best part, Backstrap for breakfast! Only you did not invite Me. Ha!
There is nothing wrong with the 243 on deer. MHO

The 243 is under estimated by non users. I think people shooting them have alot more confidence in their shooting ability. Due to the low recoil and ability to put the bullet where it will do the most damage

Sure do eat the goat, 4 backstaps, 4 backlegs, two front legs chilling in the bottom of our fridge, better tasting than lamb I think,
