rimfire encore ??
« on: February 17, 2007, 03:28:59 PM »
Got a question, was on the new T/C site looking around, saw they were offering rimfire 15" pistol barrels, I believe it was in either 22 of .17.  Is this a misprint....or what ?  I know there are "adaptors" out there for the encore to shoot rimfire, but I didn't realize T/C was making them.
I would think a .17 in the 15" would make an excellant squirrel outfit.

They were announced a few weeks ago at the "Shot Show" and will be available soon if not already.  .17 HMR does a job on squirels if close, so take head shots and you will still have something to eat.  Body shots leave ragged scraps.

If you get one let us know how you like it.  I have a Super 14 for my Contender, and it is great.

Thanks Keith for the info, I must have missed the introduction for the encore rimfiores.  Wonder how they make it work ?  A rimfire adapter, or maybe offset the barrel a little high so as to use the same firing pin ?  Thanks again

I haven't seen one but I understand they use an offset bore to use the same firing pin.  I am sure there are others who will confirm or correct this.  Folks?
