FM Mauser in 270 a new toy
« on: February 15, 2007, 12:40:09 PM »
;D ;D I made posted a question on what caliber and was just going to stick to my Swede and lo and behold a rifle grabbed my arm and just wouldn't let me go.  The rifle is a beautiful FN Mauser with a very handsome stock, 22 in tube a trigger that breaks like glass, with rings and bases w/0 scope. Well I will top it off with a Millett Buck Gold 3-10x44 and see how it goes. If this rifle shoots as good as it looks then this shoild be a blast... :o :o.  The 270 will.. Jess

Congratulations, Jess.  I happy for you.  It appears as though you'll have a very nice package.  How about some pic's?  :)

Jess,  That FN Mauser is NO Good!!!  And especially the ones in .270.  And they don't shoot worth a durn either. My son has one and it will only make one raggedy hole in the paper.  You need to get rid of that thing immediately!  I'll be glad to take it off your hands for you and dispose of it properly.  I'll even pay you for the disposal costs.

My son is so inconsiderate. I keep telling him he needs to get rid of that thing, but he just won't do it.  And on top of that, he won't leave it at my house so I can take proper care of it.

Only accurate rifles are interesting.

jmc..,

Do yourself a favor and keep it!!! I sold one with great wood and a 17xxx serial number for  $450 a few years back. It was the most accurate .270 I've ever seen. Been trying to buy it back ever since.

That is exactly what i'm going to do. I love the mauser action and this will go to one of my children for sure. The stock has nice figure and needs refinished and it will get a good oil finsh and a pad that is fitted better. I have decided to put a Swift Premier 4-12x50 on the rilfe and when I get it finished I'll post it on the site sometime this summer. Jess ;D ;D
