Holsters
« on: February 11, 2007, 02:13:12 PM »
What holster do you use with your Freedom Arms?  I just picked picked up a 475 Linebaugh with a 6" octagonal barrel yesterday. I use El Paso and Old West Reproductions holsters with my bisley and SBH.  Just wondering if there is anything else I should be looking at.

Thanks for the input.

Yep, look at the Freedom Arms holsters.  They are very well made, very reasonably priced and fit the gun extrememly well.  I have both a strong side and a crossdraw and use them both depending on what I am doing.

And the Freedom Arms "X" chest holster.  Very good for a heavy gun.  Available for models with or without a scope.

I ordered a Freedom Arms crossdraw holster for my 6" Octagon barrelled 500 last week.  Hopefully, it will be in soon, maybe tomorrow.  Everyone seems to like them so I'm going to give it a shot.  I also ordered a cartridge carrier at the same time.  GS

I had El Paso Saddlery make up a full flap cross draw holster for my FA83. I often seem to be going through heavy brush, and it keeps the snagging on the gun to a minimum..

Keeps the snow off of it too! Important at this time of year in Western NY.

I ordered the unlined cross draw holster from Freedom Arms.  It has the strap that snaps instead of the hammer thong, not sure which would be best.  Everything else I have has the hammer thong, so I thought I would try something different.  The holster seems to be very well made, fits my belt nice and snug, and carries the revolver comfortably.  Thank you all for the advice.

i have put several coats of conditioner on mine over the last two weeks to soften it up and take the "hollow" sound out of it.  its great now and the gun slides in and out without making a sound.  i like mine alot also.

Zues, What conditioner do you use?

I have lexol that I use on saddles and other tack.  Has anyone tried it on holsters?
