varment forend. TWEAK OR NOT TO TWEAK
« on: February 10, 2007, 12:43:52 PM »
Alright I ve seen all kinds of info on tweaking forends but nothing on tweaking a varmint forend. I just put a 204 barrel on varmint stock, & im wondering what to expect with this set up. I also have a 3006 that I use in this stock, so anything I do is gonna have to work for both
I dont care what gun Im using as long as Im hunting

I sanded the barrel channel in front of the lug so it doesn't touch the barrel, it didn't help bipod shooting but it seems to shoot fine rested on the hinge, which it didn't before.

I'd shoot it and see, mine doesn't shoot well from the bipod, but for many others, it works fine. Shoot first, make changes if needed. ;)
