Old Contender new barrels
« on: February 08, 2007, 04:45:57 AM »
I just purchased a older Contender with a 10" barrel in .357 max.  My question is on future barrels.  I noticed the barrels are different lengths than what the older forearms are listed.  I guess the question is have the posts been moved on the newer barrels and how does one figure out what forend will work?  Or will the new forends work on the old Contender?

Nearly all of the older forearms fit the new G2s, and to the best of my knowledge all the new forearms fit the old Contenders.  I have a mix of frames and barrels, and use what I want freely mixing styles.  One of the really short forearms had to be trimmed a little to fit on the G2 frames, but it just took a few minutes with a Dremmel tool and it was good to go.
