Topper barrels on SB2 frame?

Old Toppers may or may not, I've got a 158 that won't come close.

I have two model 158 (30-30 and 22 Rem Jet) and a model 155 45-70 that will not fit any of my SB2s. But who knows, there maybe some that will. Manufacturing standards for the older H&Rs seems to be all over the place.

My Topper 30-30 barrel fits great on my NEF sb1 frame and I use it that way. I think the frame is stronger than the one it came with. Are you going to try to put that barrel you purchased from Canon on an NEF frame?

 I have 73 model 158 410 barrel that fit nost of my sb-2 frames
 with out modfing, although older rifle barrel will NOT  fit some
 sb-2 frames, you never know till you try, just my 2 cents Marv.

The 88 models usually fit well. Haven't had any experience with the 158 models.

I have several different frames, old and new, and yes I was thinking out loud about the 30-30 from canon. I should have it in a day or two.
