Sako M 75 and M 85
« on: February 05, 2007, 04:19:00 PM »
Just started looking for a new rifle and started looking at the Sako's.  All I can say is WOW!  These are awesome rifles!  I do, however, have a few questions.  Are both rifles controlled round feed?  What are the main differences between the 2 models?

These look like everything I have been wanting in a new rifle so any real world experience with either would be greatly appreciated such as how it shoots, fit and finish etc. etc.  Also, what is a real world price for the Finnlight or Synthetic Stainless?

The caliber, by the way, will be the old do-all warhorse, the great 30-06!

85 has the following that the 75 doesn't have:
- different stock design (American design rather than 75's Monte Carlo)
- CRF (not a true CRF design though like Ruger, CZ or Winchester)
- new magazine latch system where mag needs to be pushed up into receiver in order to be removed
- bigger price
