Sixpack: I am a diehard CZ fan. In that light, however, I would recommend you take the advice of Beemanbeme and throw up some rifles you might be interested in getting. Yes, my CZ 550 American is a tad heavy. All up, with four in the magazine and one up the snout, it weighs 9 pounds. The accuracy of it, however, force me to look well beyond the weight. The single-set trigger is fantastic. The blueing is deep and beautiful. The stock, well, some come with little or no figure, some come in a box looking like a custom rifle and some have just nice looking wood. I refinished my stock because there was a really pretty piece of wood hiding under that elephant-snot finish CZ uses on its stocks. I just think that CZ offers one whale of a bang for the buck. If you do decide to go CZ, you might also consider the CZ 550 Full Stock in .30/06. Those have a 20.5 inch barrel and look really neat. My little bro owns one in 7x57mm and that thing is SWEET. To me, the CZ stocks do not feel like a club, but are well proportioned handles. If you do go with CZ, I think you will be more than satisfied. You might also price them at Whittaker Guns. Go to whittakerguns.com and check out the prices there. You can order via an FFL holder in your area. The only drawback there, you won't be able to pick-and-choose to get the stock with the best figure in it. While I agree with Beemanbeme to heft rifles in a gunshop, I also wholeheartedly agree with krochus ... buy CZ! Tom P
