This should be an interesting time...in a good way

My future step daughter asked me to take her and best friend out to teach how to shoot...

I've already sat them both down and spent about 4 hours yesterday familiarising them with my guns, and handling them(empty or with dummy rounds of course).. We'll be heading out today to the indoor range today(too cold to be outside 15 with a wind chill of 2 as i write this)...
I also showed them a few idiots(by way of the net), and told them a few stories let them know how much power they will be having in their hands, when shooting..

They seemed to understand it and asked lots of questions, so I'm pretty sure that it sunk in... Before we go today I'll refresh them on handling and what not..
Hopefully the indoor range will be open, otherwise we'll have wait until next visit, or I'll go get them next weekend and take them shooting.. It's just too freaking cold to be outside trying to shoot9with the wind cutting thru you...

Btw, they've also shown interest in archery.. ;D Guess I'll be teaching them that as well.. A couple of outdoors women in the making!! And yes they wanna try fishing as well...lol

Outstanding. I hope they enjoy it and grow up understanding the truth about or hobbies. 8)

I have a pretty good feeling that they do... I just hope that they'll pass on what they learn, to another generation, and look on them as good times, because I have!!

Congrats.  This is definitely good news. I had my daughter and son-in-law at the range 2 weeks ago. They loved it.  They both plan on taking a pistol carry class.  If more poeple actually got out to the range to shoot then there would be  fewer negative misconceptions about shooters. I hope it warms up to above zero soon, it was -13 this morning in Minnesota.
