Sling for Contender
« on: May 06, 2003, 05:42:06 AM »
I want to put a sling on my 14" Contender. The gun has Pachmayr foreend and gripper grip.  What's the best option? Who sells it?

Thanks.

The only thing you should feel when shooting insurgents is recoil.

quester, before contacting Uncle Mikes(whom I reccomend), measure,  with calipers, your bbl. where you want the sling to attach. Go VERY slighty oversize and you can adjust from there with elec. tape.  Pat :D

QUESTOR:  Uncle Mike's sling mounts for Contender QD 115 T/C set #13032  $27.95  has a swivel stud that replaces the bolt that holds your    forearm on & swivel stud bolt that replaces your grip bolt.   Myself I already have everything except the swivel grip bolt, which Uncle Mikes     don't sell seprately (they want to sell you the whole package) & don't know who manufactures them.

Questor – go to www.jsi-guns-hunting-firearms.com for the just sling it, sling. It’s only a few bucks more than a standard sling, and it goes from carrying just like a normal sling, to opening up so you can use the sling as a brace to help steady your shooting. (The web site shows it pretty well) Even though I prefer to use my shooting sticks to steady my 14” Contender, I like having the ability to simply unclip the connector and use the sling to help steady a shot which might not allow enough time to open up and set up the shooting sticks. I must admit that carrying the Contender by means of a sling seems easier to me than carrying my Anaconda in a bandolier holster. These guys also carry the Uncle Mikes stud kit. It’s a universal kit and works well with the pachmayer grips and forend.
