C G Haenel Custom Sporter 9x57 any info.?

I have the opportunity to purchase a C G Haenel Custom Sporter 9x57 like the one in this article minus the scope.  The rifle is in excellent shape.  I just don't know anything about the 9 X 57.  I do know the bullet dia. can be one of two .354 or .356.  Can anyone tell me about this caliber?
