204 Handi prices?

My name is Dan, and I'm not a handiholic.  I can quit any time I want to!  Honestly!  I only have 17, counting the 3 shotguns.  The question is, what is a really good price on a 204?  My LGS has a pallet wood 22 in. 204, NIB, for $195 out the door.  He's had it on the shelf for 6 months and just wants it gone.  I tried $175 and got turned down.  Maybe in another month or so.  What do you guys think-Did I mess up by not taking the poor lonely little thing home?

I would think any handi for under 200 would be a steal go grab it up unless it used i dont know what used handis go for but here in OKl a new handi runs about 250 thats with out tax the cheapest 1 i seen was 214 and that wasnt out the door   so get it if its steal there u would be geting a great deal in my BOOKS

In my area, and it seems in a few arena's.....the regular Handi's are going for about $205-219,  depending on where you look.   The HB varmint calibers (.204, .223, .243) seem to get about $229 with the laminated pallet wood and 22" barrels.   

Our local BPS has a 22" HB .204 Ruger, same as you described, with a normal price of $219 before tax.   I'd say $195 OTD is a pretty good price.

The only new .204 Handi in the gunshop I use has a price of $225. You add Indiana sales tax and you would pay $238.50 out the door. That's almost 20% less than here and that is what I call a good price ... if new.

I found a 204 fluted here with the cholate stock set for $200 I would consider this an excellent buy, 195 for the one you found is good also they sell for around 240-250 new here.`1

Daniel, I paid $190 for mine new in Oct 2004, the same store sells it for $210 now so that's a good price, I'd grab it before someone else does! It may have the gen 1 extractor that has been problematic, but mine has worked just fine so far.

yup i just payed 219 for a new 204 22 inch hb at sportsmans warehouse.  if you can get one for 195, grab it as quick as possible

You guys are all getting good deals.  I haven't seen a new one around here under $250.. most are getting in the $279-$289 range for a standard Handi.
