« on: January 28, 2007, 07:09:48 PM »
Im thinking about porting a SRH 7 1/2" 454. Who does the best work for the money? Thanks, H.H.

If you do port it you know cast bullets are out of the question! Jacketed is all you can shoot! Just about any gunsmith worth his salt could port it for you.

I am not a fan of porting
The 454 in the RSH is very useable. Especially if you use 45C for practice

How do you figure that. I have a BFR 500 Mag with Mag-na-porting and all I shoot is hard cast gas checked bullets. I have not had one problem with leading or anything else.

As stated above I have a 500 Mag Mag-na-ported, if I had to do it over again, I would not have it ported. The difference is not worth the cost in my book.

I had my first revolver(Charter Arms 44 spec) MagNaPorted in 1977 and have had four done since. In hard kicking calibers they do work ,for me.I have shot a ton of hard cast bullets thru them with no problems, but then again I do not mind cleaning my weapons   Doug
