What is your favorite TC Contender grip??

This is probably covered before, but the search does not work for me. I have the factory stuff and the pachmayr, but I just ordered one, the "Big Boy" grip from Georgia Jim. I am not doing this for looks, although it may look better. I am interested in steadiness and recoil control for hunting. What are your thoughts??

I like the Pachmayr gripper design, they fit my hand.  Both my contenders wear them.

I think I am the only one that thinks this way, but all three of mine wear the factory competitor grip.  I shoot calibers from big to small and I just have always prefered those grips, they seem to fit me.

I prefer the custom grip made by Denzel Roberts out of Houston.  Feels good no matter what caliber I'm shooting.

Pachmayr Griper Decelerator and Pachmayr forend...hands down....oooh how I wish they made'm for Encores and G-2's.  , Walt

Actually in Wood I prefer the old Herrett Finger Groove / Thumbrest Grips. I also used to use the Pachmayr Finger Groove Gripper quite a bit, but once i used the T/C Rynite Finger Groover Grip I replace my Pachmayr's with the T/C Rynite Grip.

I don't have any old style Contenders any longer, but rather the newer G2 version. My new Stainless-Steel G2 Contender came with the Factory Rubber Grip and Forend (obviously). Granted I have not shot this one a lot yet, but from the first time I picked it up I knew I would not be changing out these grips for anything else. I absolutely love the Feel, Texture, Shape and Angle of this new G2 Grip. I think it is the best I have used on a Contender so far.

PS: Pachmayr announced at the Shot Show they are now going to offer a Rubber Grip for the T/C Encore from what I have read.

I have several grips and use the Pachmyer Decellerator on my hard kickers.  But the one I like the best is the T/C Rynite grip.  It just feels good and I think I can shoot better because of it.

Another topic is forends.  I have several of those and think the Pachmeyer is the worst.  I think it grips the barrel and affects the accuracy because of it.  I prefer the T/C forends or the custom one I have from Otter Stocks.

Thanks for the replies! I tried to email Denzel, but have not had a reply. Are you sure he still makes the grips?? I have 1 custom grip that looks like his, but I purchased it used and do not see any kind of markings so I can identify it. It is a wide (across the back) grip.

As far as I know he is.  He just had a set of grips for a G2 on Ebay about a week ago.  Sometimes he does go out of town and it will take him a few days to reply.

I also have some on order from Georgia Jim. I ordered the Big Boy grip and a couple of forends in the brown/brown laminate He said it would be about six weeks.

Wasn't i the G2 that didn't have a ruber grip available?  I have been waiting for a rubber grip for my G2 since I bought it. 

As far as Georgia Jim, you will not be let down.  He does great work and you should get your grips when he says.  He is very prompt.

T/C is producing a Rubber Grip and Forend for the new Stainless-Steel G2 Contenders. I just recently aquired 2 new Stainless-Steel G2 Contenders and they both came with the new T/C Factory Rubber Grip and Forends.

I really like the feel of this new Grip, and it offers a good grip in cold weather even with gloves on. It is by far the nicest feeling grip I have ever had on a T/C Contender.

Yes Pachmayr did announce a new Pachmayr Grip for the T/C Encore at this years SHOT Show. I have not seen any pictures of it yet and am not sure if they are offering a Forend also for the Encore or not.
