It took me a while to get back to you with the loads. The trapdoor loads, which I shoot mostly in my Handi, are 35G of Re #7. This is the load I am having hangfires with. When I up the load to 50G of #7 I have no problems in either rifle. What I am wondering about is with the large case and small amount of powder, is the powder on some rounds positioning itself toward the front of the cartridge and thus the hangfire? Would the hotter magnum primer help on this?
