I used it on a S&W model 19.  Came out great.  I baked it in the oven when the wife was gone.  I have a contender barrel that someone sold with a ss # stamped in it.  I am going to fill that in and then get it painted also.   It the stuff is good enough for Kimber, Pac-Nor and a few others, I can live with it.  No complaints so far and my S&W was done two years and about 1000 rounds ago.

I have not used Guncoat but have used Brownell's  Teflon/moly and baking lacquer.  When baking you are to suspend the parts, I used wire to hang from the oven rack.  One word of caution you should not use the same oven you use to cook food in as these finishes put out toxic fumes.
These finishes are much more durable than any bluing and if done right aren't much differant than stainless.

It was a pretty comical set up.  I had it in pieces, some suspended on wires, some on metal pins, etc.  The gun kote is like a paint.  You paint it on, let it dry, then go in to bake it.  You need the item "suspended" so the heat will get all the way around the finished area.  I called the guys at KG and got the aok to bake it in the oven in the kitchen.  I had all the fans on and left the room.   When I do my condender barrel, I will probably have an old cleaning rod or similar down the barrel and suspend it that way.

Good Luck,
