super 14 front sight

how do you take off the long ramp front sight on a super 14?  it has 1 exposed screw in the rear, do you have to slide the sight out of a dovetail after that or take the blade out and remove a screw under it?

Anyone I have owned had an exposed screw on each end.  Now you have me puzzled, we need someone else to jump in here.

Yes, The older S-14's have a hidden screw under the dovetail.  Walt   BTW, The scrw spacing is the same, so they are interchangable too.

Yes, the front blade needs to be removed from the dovetail, to remove the front screw. These Super 14 Front sights were replaced with the later version with 2 exposed screws about 1981.
