Aqua VU - VPG
« on: January 22, 2007, 09:42:25 AM »
Was wondering if anyone has used this new type of flasher from Aqua Vu.  The VPG stands for vertical pixel graph.  It basically is a flasher type locator that is vertical so you can get a better feel for what your looking at.  It is standard gray scale like the older locators.  I was thinking of trying one instead of buying a Vexilar.  The VPG is only $200 compared to 3-400 for the Vexilars.  What I really was wondering is if a ice jig will show up on the graph like they do on the Vexilars.

Here is the web page for the VPG:  http://www.naturevisioninc.com/shop_nvi/product.php?productid=14&cat=4&page=1

I am also wondering how this product performs. It looks interesting and more compact.

I ended up buying a VPG, tried it out on Bay Du Noc last weekend.  And for the most part I like it alot.  Down side is that its not color and that it takes a couple minutes to warm up when its really cold out.  Upside is its verticle screen, zoom is nice, compact, easy to use, picks up your bait well and it costs a lot less that the Vexilars.
