Shaner;

My wife has carried one for about two years now. Hers is the blued .357 with rubberized grips. It shoots good if you keep it in realistic ranges for its barrel length. Shooting magnums through it is not the most pleasent experience(Good bit of wrist snap). She practices with .38 Spcl, but carries .357. She really likes it. I have taken it out to the range a couple of times. It is a good gun. Triggers are smooth, but the DAO trigger pull is a touch heavy.

If this is what your looking at I would recommend one.

Shaner:

I've been looking at a used one at my local gun shop. The gun looks new and as clean as new. No marks, ..... nothing wrong that I can tell, buueing looks new also. I looks like the original owner may have put a cylinder full of .357 Mags. thru the gun, gave up, and traded it in.

The price is $200-$225 but no box or papers.

What do you think?

Something also tells me that the barrel is ported with holes but I can't be sure. I looked at a lot of guns when I was there. Is ther a Taurus WEB page where I can find a little more information on this gun?

Thanks - J.Solo

price sounds really good, the one i got is hammerless stainless 357  shoots really well , i gave 250 for it ,  box an all the works, make sure yu get the safety lock keys with it?? if you want them , if not  yu 'll be hunting them, iam still amazed  at how well they shoot for a stubby  thing  i wonder how the porting  affects it , id like to shoot it an see that 617 is a 7 shot also ,

You could also look at the Model 850. It is basically the 650 in titanium with porting. It is also a 5 shot like the 650.

Shaner;

Many, many years ago I shot a friends model 85 snubbie. From about 15 yards, I was able to put 5 rounds into the X ring. Three of them were touching edge to edge in a diagonal line. The other two were just below them, and touching each other at the edge. needless to say I was impressed.

The 850 is chambered in .38special only while the 650 can shoot .38s and .357s. Both models come in blue, stainless or titanium. The titanium model is ported. For the other models, porting is optional.
