Trigger job
« on: January 18, 2007, 09:30:13 AM »
I'm getting ready to send my daughters Handi  back  for a  couple of new  barrels. Can anyone tell me if they still do  trigger jobs when you send them in for  free , or is there a  charge now .  The  trigger on her's  is really terrible..

Thanks

From what I have seen if you just ask for a trigger job there is a charge. However if you politely ask for one and state the reason is because the trigger is very heavy and/or rough you have a better chance of getting the free trigger adjustment. I had one done for free when I had a barrel fitted simply by asking politely and also inclosing a letter asking for it AND by explaining that the trigger was much to heavy and in addittion it was a bit rough. I  asked them to reduce it to somewhere between 3.5 to 4.0 pounds or as low as they could go by thier rules with the lighter end being better. I recieved a very nice smooth and light trigger job for free. Kindness and politeness goes a long way...Good luck and please let us know how it works out. I would suggest an enclosed letter attached to the reciever and addressed to "The Gunsmith"  as well as the oral request....<><.... :)

thank you MSP for the  quick reply. I  am going to   call  tomorrow  to talk  to them  about  the muzzle loader  barrel  and  I'll  as  then  about the   trigger  work ..And yes  I'll be    very polite..I've learned you  get  more bees with  honey  then  vinegar..  I"ll  lets   y'all know what  the outcome is,,,My daughter loves   this  rifle, but  an easier  trigger would  make it  shoot  a lot  better  for  her

thanks

I e-mailed customer service this week and they told me the trigger job is still free when you send back for barrels. Charlie

Sending the rifle in just for a trigger job would be too far then? ::) I don't have a need for a new barrel but depending on the trigger it might need some TLC.  We'll know this weekend.
