6.8 Rem SPC
« on: January 16, 2007, 05:18:14 AM »
Does anyone have a range or hunting report on the 6.8 Rem SPC in the Contender? Thinking about this caliber in a Contender Carbine for my son for deer.

Would be an excellent choice.  I have a 23" barrel that is amazingly accurate.  I have loaded 130 grain BT's and 100 Hornady Softpoints.  Very, very light recoil.  I haven't shot at any game with mine.  Wonderful little round.  There has been quite a bit discussion on the T/C Single shot rifle forum..might want to check there.

Anybody shot it in a pistol? I see you can get it in 14"; was wondering if anyone tried it in something shorter, like a 10"?

I've got a 14" barrel on the way should be set to go by next week.

Mine worked like a charm on this hog. It ran about 50 yard and hacked up both lungs. I was shooting the Hornaday 110 gr. BTHP.
