Trigger job on NW (2006) Handi
« on: January 14, 2007, 12:51:28 PM »
I am all set to make the templates for the trigger job (ala Perklo and Quck) but find that on the '06 frame there are five pin heads on the right side.  The 5th one is above and slightly forward of the front trigger-guard pin.  This 5th pin is not shown on the schematics posted in the FAQs; does not go all the way through; is about .050 away from the front trigger-guard pin; and is .310 in diameter.

I am assuming that this pin is there only to plug a hole in the frame and does not perform any structural function.  Is this correct?

I am proceeding to prepare the templates with the 5 holes instead of 4 and just not try to drive this 5th pin out.  If anyone knows that this will not work, please reply here and tell me what I should do instead.

Thanks.

That's a view port for checking latch engagement at the factory. ;)

That's what is suspected.  This makes drilling the template just a little more complicated due to the closeness of the two pins.  I think I will just drill a 5/16" dimple for the extra pin so that the template will fit up to the frame.  Thanks for the "Quick" reply.
