Heritage Model 25
« on: January 13, 2007, 05:24:32 PM »
Years ago when the Performance Center came out with the Heritage Series, I thought they were great looking guns, but I couldn't afford one then. My dealer happened to have/find a Heritage Model 25 NIB in .45 Colt. He's holding it for me. They are closed on Mondays, so I'm really looking forward to Tuesday! It will be my first .45 Colt, too.

Does anyone have any experience with this gun? I know some folks think they're butt-ugly, but I think they really look great. Since it's a PC gun, I expect it to have a pretty smooth trigger (he said hopefully).

I also think the 25 PC guns look great also, and I'll probably have one some day.  I do have a Heritage .22 from the PC shop.  The finish is great, the trigger is so-so, not really any better than a run of the mill gun.  It is very accurate, 1/2" or less for 6 shots at 25 yds. with Wolf match ammo.  I bet you will love your new toy, and the 45 Colt is a great caliber.

Hello Old Griz
Congrats. on the Purchase of a fine Colt .45 Caliber S&W. I Hunted the Area hard for Five years wanting an original Model 25 with a 4" barrel. No luck, so I settled for a model 25-13 Mountain Gun. I am very Pleased with it, and almost Favor the Tapered barrel now that I have fired one. I recently Picked up this 1916 Second Model .455 mark II as well. It was a factory Colt .45 caliber conversion and shoots real tight. it has had a set of Micro sights added in it life time, and they work well on Target shooting. I Love Both My S&W Revolver's in the .45 Colt round, and know you will love that Heritage series as well. Regards, Hammerdown

My dealer also has the Mountain Gun in .45 Colt. It sure looks good, too, and it was a tough choice, however, the Heritage gun was just so unique I had to go with it. I'm surprised to see how few factory loads there are for the .45 that aren't Cowboy loads. I hope I'll get to shoot it next Saturday.
