Sako poor?  I had the pleasure to be stationed at Bitburg AB, Germany in the late sixties- seveties.  I purchased my first two Sako's at the Rod and Gun Club there, a .222 and a .243, both bull barrels, price for the pair $340.00 (both).  When I returned to the states in 1977, after almost nine years overseas I had eleven SAko's in my cabinet.  I now have:

     .222
     .223
     22-250
     .243
     .244 (6mm Remington)
     6.5x55 Swed
     25-06
     .270
     .308
     .30-06
     .7mm Mag
     .300 Win Mag

All are wearing either a Buris or Lepould scope.  I don't use most of them anymore, I use the .243 and 25-06 for deer, and on occassion I take the 22-250 out to shoot coyotes, other than that they are cleaned fairly often and live in darkness in the safe.  I am sure they will get some use in the future, I am 68 years old, and plan to pass them on to my grandsons shortly.

Here's the only Sako I own at this time. It's all original except for the Lilja barrel, which is chambered for the .300 Win Mag.

No pictures available, but I bought a left handed Tikka T3 Lite Stainless in 6.5x55 Swedish just before the new year and am currently in the process of kitting it out. It'll be one of my walkabout rifles for future hunts.

I have few Tikkas - all of them are T3s.  Here's a pic of my latest acquisition.  It's a T3 Varmint in 308.

I only want to get a 338 Federal and I'll be done.

Rockbilly, I was overseas in the late 70s, early 80s.  I was stationed in Baden, aCDN air base near Baden Baden (just down the road from Karlsruhe).  I used to get up to Bitburg for fun and on business from time to time.  The last time was I went there was for a Tiger Meet.  And I agree, what a place to get toys!  I sure miss the rod and gun over there AND the prices!

 Het Stever
Very nice rig. 8)  8)  8) I was at a toss up with this new one on the way,I wanted a Big Boar a Varmint or the .338. I am right in the middle of building a varmint in 7mm-08,so I went for the .338 since I lost my .35 seemed like the best all around.

We'll have to note up and see how well the .338 does for us. :)

Thanks.  I think that the 338 will do well.  But even if it was to drop off the face of the earth, the brass and bullets are extremely easy to get.  For the area and animals that I hunt, it's perfect.

Safe Shooting!  ;D

They're all nice, but that wood and stainless really blows my hair back.  I had a 7MM like that, just did not care for the caliber.  Now Sako is not making them anymore.  I guess I should have kept it to go with the other 4 in the cabinet (only problem is they are all wood and blue).

Tikka T3 Light Stainless Left-Hand 30-06sprg. T3 stock aluminum rings and a Weaver Classic V Silver 2-10x38mm Scope, Limbsaver Precision Fit recoil pad #10011, Butler Creek scope covers. I haven't decided on ammo yet but am considering Federal Fusion 168grn, Winchester Super-X 168 grn, and Remington Managed Recoil. Because I recently had back surgery I wanted this light rifle and am doing all I can to reduce felt recoil and keep the weight down.

I love this rifle, it's my first lefty and the stock fits me like a glove.
