Starline .475 and .500 Linebaugh brass

I've just seen that this is now another option for those 2 calibres - although I don't have my .475 yet and don't see a .500 in my future.

It's priced cheaper than Hornady .475 brass as well at around $100 for 250.

Has anyone here tried the Starline in the .475 yet? Any idea how it compares to the Hornady? Those are the 2 in my price range.

Starline Brass is great, very consistent flash holes and good quality metal.

I use Starline brass in my .500 Linebaugh and am very pleased with it.

I've been using buffalo bore brass which I think was made by starline for the 475. Glad to see this is going to be available from starline.

Shilo, you are correct as far as I understood it the headstamps BBA are Starline.

Priced well too from what I can see.

Anyone got a comment vs. the Hornady?

I've used both in my .475 and either brand should work well for you depending on what you can get at the time you order.  I intend to switch over to Starline as that is what I use in my .500.  It's just a personal preference thouhg; nothing bad to say about the Hornady brass.

I received the package last week. 250 X 475 Linebaugh cases. Now I have the brass - just need the gun licence so I can have the gun too!

I've got a few Hornady cases that came with the gun. The primer flash holes look a little better on the Hornadys and larger on the Starlines, but I'll have to see when I shoot them.

Service was helpful and good when I finally got hold of them - but I had to phone as I got no replies to either my e-mails or faxes. I'm an international order, so I suppose that does change things a little.

That .475 Linebaugh will be outstanding in the RSA. Are you planning on a Freedom Arms revolver?

Hi Ken,

There's a post a (long) while back - I bought a secondhand 7.5" Mod 83 Premier Grade about mid last year. Now I wait and wait and wait... licensing firearms here is a pain in the behind and you need to be declared comeptent first and despite all that I own already (and have done since I was legal to about 20 years ago) that took about 11 months. I'll try to get a temporary permit now, so that I can hunt with it this year, but if I manage that it will be antelope only.

The revolver came with a 420gr Ballisticast "Like an LBT LFN" design mould. Whicih is good as getting bullets here is not possible and importing anything in the line of components myself from the US is becoming a costly exercise in permits and paperwork. We aren't spoiled for choice here in components anymore.

I'm learning a lot about casting in the forums here, but haven't got to it yet. Work is interfering with playtime!
