I have a Burris 1.75x5x32 Signature model and like it very much. Optics are very good and you can get on a running deer in wooded areas very quickly.
Burris also has a 1.5x6x40 Signature model that would do very well.

From your list I'd likely go with the Leupold 2-7x33 but I'd probably go with a VX-II not the Rifleman or VX-I version. The Nikon Monarch should also be an excellent choice even tho I have no personal experience with it. I do have with the Leupold VX-II however. I have one on my Rem 700 LSS Mtn. Rifle in .270 Winchester.

The Leupold VX-II Compact in 2-7X is just what you're lookin' for. Only weighs 10 ounces.

Just beware that the leupold compacts are skimpy in terms of eye relief. Works well on my 22, but may be a problem in different positions, even with a 308.

Can't go wrong with Leupould. I would say the
*Leupold VX-II Rifle Scope 1-4 X 20, I have one on a 308 works great. If you want a little pricier, the 1.5x5 is nice too, also have one of those on a 308.

tennbuck, You have a great selection of scopes there eh. I have the Burris short mag on one of my Marlins and I like it very much, especially for the generous eye relief. However I'm also a Leupy fan and I bet the 2X7 would work well on the Tikka. Rev
