custom 700
« on: January 08, 2007, 09:18:26 AM »
i just finished this rem mdl 700 bdl/dm stockl,I cut off the required end of the stock and bedded 2 aluminum threaded cylinders into it using theproduct liquid plastic, the center post threads in and out to your required length, then the upper post threads through using an allen head threaded stud that can be turned by inserting the wrench in through the rear of the limbsaver recoil pad, this upper stud locks the piece in place and provides added support, the entire rear of this stock has been filled with the liquid plastic and it couldnt be more rigid.I bedded the stock using the same material and the piece is SOLID.Let me know what you think I have been thinking about this project for over a year now and finally got a chance to get it done.

It looks interesting, but how well does it perform?  Have you shot it yet?

Just today i shot 100 and 200 yard offhand groups with it that are better than I have ever shot offhand, the shorter stock gives me more control over the rifle in the offhand position.I have a bad left arm so i wrap the sling around the arm and support it from the side. This pic shows how it adjusts, you back out the set stud and spin the entire butpad assembly to thread it in or out, then screw in the set stud with a hex wrench.
