Dear IHMSA shooting member,
We are attempting to identify membership support for a rule change that
has been submitted or consideration in Texas this year at the
Internationals.
 In short we;
are trying to gain support for the use of NRA legal Hunters Pistol
scoped guns to be used in IHMSA Field Pistol by changing the PAS rule to
allow scopes with "after market "modifications such as "dots" , "scope
magnification changes" and "after market target knobs". All of these are
legal in Nra and would be allowed with this rule change.
This would allow NRA shooters to use the same gun to shoot both
disciplines, and would also encourage new shooters to bring whatever gun and
scope config they currently have without forcing them to purchase a
"virgin scope" or perhaps have two guns for essentially the same shooting
discipline.
This rule change did not get approved last year even though we
submitted a list of over 50 IHMSA members names in support of it. This yer we
are going for 250 names.
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO BE INCLUDED IN THE PETITION IS TO
EMAIL this to either Bill or myself  and  your name will be added to the list of petitioners.
And PLEASE pass this along to all the shooters on your mailing list.
Even if you do not shoot Field Pistol, please consider support of this
for the potential good it may do for the next new shooter who shows up
at a match with a "not totally standard" scope.
Thanks,
Bil Rearick                                   Wayne Smith
