Take a look at the 1100 lb Wildboar on CNN.COM news today.  The guy shot it behind the ear in a neighbors back yard.

That's what I think. I have seen a bunch of feral hogs in my life and that looks like a domestic es-cape-eee. There are probably feral hogs rootin something up with in a couple hundred yards of my house right now. That one don't look like a true feral hog to me.

Yep, Had one that looked just like it, Used him on sows for years. Big ole pet and got good looking piglets to boot. I don't think this one is or was a wild hog for very long, { LOOK AT HIS HEAD} Short up turned nose length of head and the complete domestic look about him. I frankly do not believe any wild boar will reach the weight of this hog to start with or even come close to it. Just my honest opinion. Good story though, Have a nice day........Joe........

I believe simply looking in the hogs mouth would clarify domestic or feral. A true feral (if I remember correctly) will have a gap between the cutter (bottom jaw) and the molars. Domestics, or those that have crossed with a true feral will have a tiny little tooth about half way between the cutter and the molars. Also about 6 years is all they live. Due to foraging constantly ect. their teeth wear out and disease gets them. I have killed a couple pushing 400 lbs, and know that plenty of forage could get them bigger, but I'm not talking about game ranch hogs, I talking about feral hogs that are not fenced.JM2CW
