I have a long action ATR in 270 and after mounting a Sightron 2.5-10x44 I found that the rather short eye relief of 3 to 3.5 inches left me craning my neck way forward to get the proper shight picture. I read somewhere that the ATR shares the same scope bases with the Remington 700. I looked for a front extention mount for the 700 and found it, the Weaver 40A, stock #48040. This extention mount allows the scope to be moved back about 3/4" making all the difference. I turned that long action into a short action for just $2.95.
