Saw an example of the new Browning Model 94 rifle.
« on: December 26, 2006, 04:07:58 AM »
On one of the hunting forums, I saw a prototype of the new Browning Model 94 rifle. Looks like a Winchester Model 94 buttstock with a Browning BAR foreend connected to an updated 21st Century version of the Model 81 receiver. Clip fed, too!!! If this new style rifle comes into production, it would take some getting used to , in terms of how it looks, but it just might work.

On the top rifle, you will notice what appears to be a Winchester Model 94 Buttstock, mated to a 21st Century version of the Model 81 reciever with whaqt appears to be a Model 94 lever.  For some reason, the barrel looks like it came off of the Model 81 rifle. The forend or forearm, looks like it came off of the  BAR ShortTrac Rifle.

As for the 2nd rifle, the buttstock  looks like it came off of a BLR '81 Lightweight rifle along with the reciever.  The barrel looks to be more Winchester styling than Browning, just from the finish.

UPDATE:...  Just went on the Winchesterguns website. Checked out the Model 94 Timber Scout rifle. Just as I thought. It's a Timber Scout mated to the BLR'81 rifle.

Hi guys, first post here.

Have to say that those look like two photoshops put together.   The top one looks like a 94 butt stock and lever, married to a BLR action and added to a SX rifle forend and barrel.   The scale between the lever, and the SX forend looks incorrect.

The bottom photo is all out of scale.   The overall size of the timber scout foreend, barrel, and scope mount are much too large for thescale of the BLR receiver.

What forum did you say these were posted at???

I agree the bottom one does not look right way out of proportion.  Me thinks someone is have a joke.,

I dont like either one.  Glad I have two of the real ones on the gun rack.  I had three but a friend talked me out of one before the closing was announced and I keep my word.
