(Black) Whitetail Buck
« on: December 21, 2006, 07:42:01 AM »
A friend in Arkansas sent me this photo of a Black phase deer with a white tail. Said it was killed in SE Arkansas this year

the right/left yardstick is a French Revolution-born human measure. It reflects the political spectrum, which is determined by the people’s range of beliefs. Christians, however (and everyone, in fact), should make Truth their yardstick. This inerrant guide doesn’t compromise and build consensus, either; it’s not a politician. It dictates where reality lies. And in a civilization claiming 2+2=5, it’s with the “extremist” who insists it’s 4. For God’s realism so often is man’s radicalism.

I don't care where he was shot, that is the wildest looking deer I have ever seen. I think a full body mount would definately be in order. :o

Ok dug in the old hunting mags North American Whitetail Sept 2004. The odd colored buck was taken on Jan 3,2004 near Hays-Travis county line in the hill country of Texas. Also said it was a regular shoulder mount with the rest made into a rug. The funny thing is she said she thought it was a cow when she first saw it.

I bet Cabela's or BPS would have paid a handsome price for that animal in a full mount.  Thanks for finding out the info on where it was taken.

There was a black whitetail taken this year in Texas by the son of one of our hunting club members. I understand that they made a deal with a
taxidermist for a full body mount in exchange for letting the taxidermist borrow it to show.

black,or melanistic deer as they are refered to,are considered the rarest of all deer, much more than a true albino even
