Leupold Quick Detach Bases. Opinons?

Anyone use the Leupold QD Bases and Rings on a TC Encore?  Any difference in accuracy between the QD Bases or the QD Rings?  Thanks.

They are very well made and return to nearly the same zero.  They are also inherently the weakest mount system Leupold makes based on the small cross section of the post that secures the scope/rings to the base.  On a gun with lots and lots of recoil or a gun with a heavy scope I would expect the rings to break sooner or later.  In many cases I am aware of it happens sooner. 

If you don't need to switch scopes reguarly I recommend you save some money and choose another mount/ring system.

I will never go back to QD rings. I have had two pair of Leupold QD rings break.

go with Warne QD rings. easier to work with and don't scratch scope.

That word "nearly" kind of concerns me. I would think for the cost they would return to zero every time.

But then, I don't understand why a QDB is useful. If your hunting and your scope is broke, just take it off. Maybe I am over simplyfying it. Easy to say,....like that last time I needed to change my frizzen about a mile in the woods and I had no screwdriver....you know.....easy to say.

Thanks guys.  That's all I needed to hear.  I'll be going with standard rings and bases.  There will be some Leupold scope mounting stuff coming to EBAY soon.
