New Guy Here
« on: December 16, 2006, 07:42:43 PM »
Wow, this forum has such great info on the Handi's, glad I ran across it! I got into these rifles kind of by accident. I bought a 30'06 synthetic for my son a couple of years ago, mainly because I liked all the saftey features: single-shot, transfer bar, and exposed hammer that I could easily see whether or not it was cocked. But after I shot it a few times, I had to get one for myself and I put my Ruger bolt action in the safe. The Handi has a much better trigger and handles better in the field. Accuracy has been good enough for hunting (3" or so), but I'm looking forward to trying some of your all's tricks to improve it a bit. I do a bit of reloading, but thought I might stick with some factory loads when I try the "o" ring trick. Anybody have experience with the Winchester Super X PowerPoint 150 or 180 grain ammo in a Handi? We use the Federal Premium 180 gr Nosler partition for hunting, but it's a little pricey for target shooting. Thanks in advance for any info, really looking forward to this forum.

Welcome Aboard Bill:

Glad you found us

I haven't used them out of a o6'...but out of a 308 Handi and they do great...I'm sure other lovers of the o6' will chime in...Good luck with finding that perfect load...

Welcome Bill3006 ....

Since you already have a Handi and you're needing tips on how to improve accuracy, you are at the right place. In the event you hadn't already purchased one, you would still be at the right place. If you are not interested in puchasing another one, you better start running because these guys will flat out convince you that you another one, then another one, then another one, then another one ................. well, you get the picture.

Good shooting to you ......

Thanks for the welcomes, I've already learned a lot about these rifles from the old posts.
