It does not come with scope mounts... I would go with the all steel Warne Maxima base and rings,,, If you are going to use the BDC 250 I would load the gun the way the scope is designed to work, which is three pyrodex or 777 pellets. I would go with the 777 if it were me. You could also shoot around 120 grains of loose 777 if your gun does not group well with the pellets... As far as bullets go of course you will have to shoot a 250 grain bullet for the scope to work properly... With that in mind I would go with the bonded TC shockwave... They will have a blue tip on them... they shoot very accurately and hold together very well through hide and bone. I hope this helps... God Bless!!

I second what flinthead said. The Omega BDC scope is designed to be used with either 150 gr.  (3 triple 7 pellets) or 120 gr. of loose triple 7 powder and a 250 gr. bullet.

I am using 120 gr. of loose triple 7 powder and the 250 gr. T/C bonded shock wave bullets and get MOA groups at 100 and 200 yards.

The all steel Warne Maxima base and rings are all I would use or recommend.

Also you might want to check out the inline M/L area here at Graybeard.

Natchez shooters supply has the Maxima base and rings on sale right now. The Leupold products are fine, but if you had both in your hand I believe you would pick the Warne... They are built like a tank.

Unfortunately, Midsouth only carries TC bases, I couldn't find a Warne Encore base there, or I'd be glad to order it. I did find it at Eabco for the same price as Natchez sells it for, but it's their regular price, and the silver base is $2 less than Natchez. I'm gonna cal Midsouth tomorrow and ask em if they have it, maybe it's just not listed. their prices are too good to pass up. :-\

Here's the best price I found for the Warne base, but gotta check Midsouth tomorrow, their prices have everyone beat that I've checked so far in my limited Encore experience, that's 2 PH barrels and a thumbhole stock.

The Warne Maxima is a one-pc base, is the same whether it's a PH or a standard Encore.

Ring height would depend a lot on the scope, I can get by with no hammer extension with medium Burris sig zees with a VX1 Leupold, but just barely on my blued Encore frame, with the swing hammer of the PH, you should be fine.

The T/C mounts for the Encore are the same as the Warne Maxima. I use the Warne Maxima mount and Warne Maxima medium ring with my Nikon Omega BDC250 3X9X40 scope and I don't have to use a hammer extension.

The Warne one-piece Encore base is NOT the same as the TC base, the TC is aluminum and costs$11 for the silver, the Warne is steel and costs over $30! Midsouth only lists the blued Warne, not the silver for the PH. :(

There is also a steel one that Warne makes that is packaged by T/C. Warne makes the mounts and T/C packages them. I know I have 4 Encores with them on them. Stainless and blued.  The one at midway is steel but blued. I have the blued one on my pro hunter with blued rings and a silver scope and it look just fine. The stainless one does not match the barrel or scope and in my opinion does not look as good as the blued. The stainless Warne mount looks like it is nickel coated and has more of a yellow color not a stainless color. I only bought one of the stainless ones, I will only use the blued ones on my Encore's.

I am just trying to help him out. But it looks as if you are doing a good enough job. I'm done here.  I did not mean to step on your toes.  ::)

No toes stepped on, just didn't want people to think the TC base is steel, I think that's important to know since the description at Midsouth doesn't tell ya. ;)

Midway Master Cat. list TC Weaver Style base in alum. for 11.99-13.79 (23.49 for shotgun).

they also list  ALL STEEL MAXIMA  BASES  by TC for 37.99 - 42.99

The one pc. matte for encore is product # 280-694

Me, I use the Luey bases and rings and have had no problems. Also think that the matte looks better on the ss guns

good luck, DM
