Ruger revolver question
« on: December 16, 2006, 11:52:29 AM »
I just ordered 2 Ruger KSP321XL revolvers in 357mag. They are spurless on the hammer, five shot, 2 1'4" barreled. I have always been a smith man in the revolver dept. but they have gotten pricey. Are these typical Ruger quality and strenth? I have never owned one but, these should be good to carry in the summer, when the 1911 is harder to hide. Any info on these pistols?
Thanks in advance.

look at www.findarticles.com and type in "ruger revolvers" for your search.    see how well they are liked............................and why.

you'll have those two handguns for 5,000 years with any reasonable semblance of care.......and that includes using 'em with some relatively hot .357 mag' loads.

Thanks for the info. I have built many 1911s, worked on lots of Smiths and Colts (revolvers) but, have never even owned a Ruger revolver. Have never doubted their tuffness though. I got them in today and done an action job on one. It cleans up really good and smooth. They are more substantial than a Smith of the same size.

My wife has carried the 3" for 13 years. Great little gun. When she took her tactical training course, she outscored everyone in her class, including the men with their automatics. I have one in .22, and it's really fun. Super strong design (of course, it's a Ruger).

As far as DA revolvers go, I'm a S&W guy, but the Ruger is the best small, 5-shot revolver on the market.

I have several Ruger double action revolvers as well as S&Ws. I find the Rugers usually come with less than a great trigger, but they clean up easily and well. My SP101 and GP100 now both have quite nice triggers.

Yeah, that one thing about a Ruger. As soon as you get it, get a trigger job as well.
