Mossberg ATR Range Results (pics)
« on: December 14, 2006, 10:57:45 AM »
I finally had an opportunity to take the ATR .30-06 to the range with the new Bushnell Legend 3X9X50 mounted.  I was using Federal Hi-Shoks 180 gr Soft Points.  It took a couple shot to get the group where I wanted it.  Then it all came together.  Its nice to have the ATR back again.

What height are the rings?  How much clearance do you have?  I'm mounting a 44mm scope on my ATR and was wondering.
I aim to please - but often miss.

The rings are high mount Weaver Quad-4's.  There is about 1/16" clearance where the barrel begins to expand at the chamber and the rear of the bell and about 1/8" between the bell and the barrel in front of the chamber.
