Need Some Action Info/Measurements?

I am looking at building a custom rifle and would like to build it on a Savage stainless action. The only issue that I don't know about is if the action from a 7mm rem mag will work for a 7mm STW I'm not sure if its long enough or not. I looked at the 300 rum but there is .002 difference in rim diameter on the casings. I would like to install a 28 inch mid to heavy weight barrel and a richards microfit stock. any info or experience would be great.

Honay - I can't tell you the specifics about rim diameters and case lengths but I'm sure the gunnut69 (moderator in Gunsmithing Forum) can provide those.  As to the Richards Microfit stock - it took me six months to get my stock from them after the order had been placed, and if they don't have one cut for your Savage action in stock it might be a while before you can shoulder your project.  Mikey.
