I believe he is out of business now.  Gartman sold out to someone, but I don't have that info.  He used to make custom bolt action rifles, Mauser actions, and very light weight barrels.  The barrels were made out of the special steel used in the mini-guns of the Viet Nam error, he used to make.  I was told he would grossly overload to see it he could get a barrel to fail and never did.  I had a beautiful example of his mountain rifle in 280 Rem. in a wood stock I would love to know what it was.  This is my "I wish I never sold that one".  That's all I can remember except the shop was in Wrentham it think.

I found the address and phone number:Gartman Arms Co,Rte 1,Wrentham, MA 02093View Map

Gartman Arms Compamy is still in business - but not strictly a "gun" business. They're a service company, offering deep hole & gun drilling services at the same phone number, but this addy:

570 Washington St.
Wrentham, MA 02093
Phone: 508-384-3791
