Wife's First Big Game Hunt
« on: December 08, 2006, 10:04:36 AM »
She had practiced for several weeks with her 270. After stalking in a blowing snow storm, she put the 150gr Partition through the boars heart at a little over 150 yards. At the shot, the pig's head raised slightly, and then feel on its chin stone dead. She took her time and shot from a sitting position off her knees. The snow was blowing so hard, she had to clean the snow off the scope several times before she shot. I videoed the whole hunt. Every time one of my buddies tells me he's a studley hunter, I play it for him.

Double AA ...

Great story and pictures. I have taken shots at coyotes in a snow storm like that and it isn't very easy to do. Congratulations to the both of you!! That video will quiet the men down I am sure. Are you having the hog mounted?

Yes, the hog was in great shape, with long hair from the winter. The taxidermist we use uses the natural tusks.

Nice shot on a big pig.  Looks way too cold for me.   Where is that?

Very impressive pig whether it be man or woman who harvested the animal.  This being her first big game hunt it will stay with her as first hunts stay with all of us.  Grate memories and a fine trohpy.
