The 375 Win is enroute
« on: December 02, 2006, 08:24:58 AM »
The ultra barrel I sent off to be rebored from 223 rem to 375 Winchester is finally done.  As an added bonus, there was a slight mishap during the reboring process that scratched the outside of the barrel so I got a complete reblue job.  Wayne also "erased" the old barrel markings and custom engraved new caliber markings for me.  He made a point of saying that there was usually an added charge for this service but he threw it in gratis as a fix for the boo boo.  When it gets here I'll do a chamber impression and get an order off to Veral for a 250gr mold for it.  Can't wait to see how it shoots.

Ian.
Congrats for the new gun.
Shot the first deer with my 375Win. It sure is a powerful rifle, that 200gr factory load did a lot of damage. I could not tell how much the deer angled, shot it through the neck took out the shoulder blade and three ribs and a big exit hole.

That rifle dictates a precise aiming spot, so you don't ruin 1/2 the deer.

Here is the mod I done on the lever, we talked about that some time ago. Pic did not show up?
