Mossberg atr 100 .243

Found an atr 100 chambered for the .243 at wally world for 244 otd. Does this sound like a good deal. I know mossberg makes good shotuns but what about this rifle.  I was also considering getting a 30/30. wich would be best for deer. Shots wont be more than 125yds thanx dan

I have the ATR in .270 and it is a really good gun for the money. I bought mine at WM for $244. about this time last year. Normally this is the best price around. Right now, a Sporting Goods Store in Anderson, SC has the ATR with scope mounted and bore sighted for $269. They have 30-06, .308, .270, and .243

Depending on where you are in NWGA, might be worth a trip.

I can teach you a trick to lower the price less than 244 from walmart....

If its a display model, tell them your willing to pick up the display model, they usually give 10% discount :)  (atleast they did that for me when I obtained my 30-06 atr exactly last year same time as now)

Its a good light weight 22" barrel gun.  It easily giving me 1" groups and thats with factory remington 180s cor-lokts.
As far as 243 goes, I would opt for a 308.....

plus one on the "display model" trick.  I did it for a gun safe a few years ago, good save on a ten percent.  That is one thing that is good about the corporate world... they have their ways of doing things, which can work out very well.
