Looking towards a Glock
«

I've been wanting to purchase a new handgun to replace the 629classic that I just sold. I was looking at 1911's but I think I'm going to go with a Glock. Probably a model 23 or 22. I wanted a 45acp but the model 21 just feels too big in my hands. I dont want the 45 gap because ammo is hard to find and is expensive. I think the 40 will suit my needs. I am leaning towards a Glock because I want something I can shoot the piss out of and not have to worry about it breaking. From what I hear they are pretty much undestructible. Is this a good decision or am I thinking in the wrong direction.

I have a Glock 22 40, also a 357 Sig barrel for it, great pistol so far. Also have Rugers, P90, P95 and P345 , which I like better than the Glock.

I have a Glock 19 and my son has a 22. We have them primarily for personal protection, and I trust them to work. At ranges that are expected for this type of work they are accurate enough, and neither of us have ever had a ftf.
On the other hand I have come to enjoy shooting a 1911 because of the way it feels in my hand, and the sweet trigger. I also like my S&W K frames and my Single Six and all the other guns in my safe.
I guess it is all in what you want to do with it.

The Glock 22 is a great choice. I really like mine. It is one of my favorite packing guns. Light weight and holds lots of ammo. It is easy to clean even in the field. Just about any gun dealer carries ammo for it. Lots of choices as well. Factory ammo from 135 grain up to 200.

I have a few Glocks in 9mm and .45. For a fun gun, or CCW the 19 is hard to beat. Cheap ammo and a real sweet shooter!

I have the Glock 22 and the 357 Sig barrel for it also. I have the Glock 20 10mm and use it for home protection. I like my Glocks can't find any fault with either of them.
