Colt SFVI revolver
« on: April 20, 2003, 07:17:31 PM »
I shot a visitors colt stainless SFVI (I think) 38 revolver at an indoor range a few days ago and was really impressed with the smooth action, handling and accuracy for a snub nose. The guy said it wasn't a custom model but it shot better than any factory revolver I've shot. I thought it was a fairly new model but couldn't find it on the colt site .  Is it still made and who carries it?

Tks, I really want one!
It's a great life if you don't weaken!

If I remember correctly the SF-VI is an updated version of the venerable Detective Special. The internal design of the King Cobra was used as the old "V" mainspring was replaced with coil springs. Unfortunately they were only built for 2 years as Colt stopped it's standard handgun production. Reports say that this was a nice little revolver that would once again rival the J-frame S&W.

Seems I was wrong in my above post. The SF-VI still had the V-mainspring. Sorry about the confusion.
