Very handy website...
www.vote-smart.org Not partisan.. simply gives bio and voting records of all candidates.
Just use search box at the upper left; type in last name of the candidate you are interested in finding out about.
It will lead you to a bio page with photo..under the photo are categories such as "intrest groups" and "voting record" etc.
By clicking on those categories you can find out how the candidate actually voted on many issues (without comment), and how various groups, like the NRA rate each candidate.
For instance, I wanted to find out how each of three NY candidates feel about our owning/using our guns..so I processed through Chuckie Schumer, Tom Reynolds and Hillary Clinton...
I found that one was a very valuable ally of gun owners..the other two really stunk..
I won't say who fit where..don't want to appear partisan....LOL
