Well it'd be a little like a Model 70 in .257 Roberts, there were some, but not very many.  ;)

I would like to know details about this rifle, serial range, barrel length approximate age, stock and checkering style, sights.  Got any pics?  Is it for sale?

Do you know what year it was made? The guys over at SavageShooter.net have a ton of information on Savage guns.

Are you planning to sell it or get it appraised?

Its at a local gunshop it is priced at $300.00,he told me they made 1000 of'em,It looks as new...

if as you say it is in like new condition, i would grab it in a heartbeat for $300 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the last two 250,s i've had i had to build. one became an ackley and i found that i missed the 250 so much i built another.
